Another Turning Point in Our Story

After 191 weeks of scrutiny, the Quarterlands planning proposal has been withdrawn from Monday 8th agenda. Legal proceedings by the applicant mean the process continues — but our community remains vigilant.

We have been fighting this planning proposal since January 2022. Today we heard the words again:

“Withdrawn from Monday. Legal proceedings by Applicant.”

This means the proposal did not appear before the Planning Committee on Monday 8th September as scheduled.

For 191 weeks – more than three and a half years – we have worked tirelessly as a community to hold the planners and developers to account. We have scrutinised documents, challenged misinformation, raised the alarm on environmental and human rights issues, and demanded that the voices of local residents be heard.

This development may have been taken off Monday’s agenda, but our work is not over. Legal proceedings by the applicant remind us that this is a long battle, not a single victory. Still, this moment shows the power of persistence, determination, and collective action.

We want to thank every neighbour, supporter, and ally who has stood with us throughout these 191 weeks. Together, we have shown that even small communities can hold powerful developers and planning authorities to account.
