A Glimpse from Quarterlands Road
Nestled in the heart of the Lagan Valley Regional Park, Quarterlands Road offers a serene escape into the wonders of nature. As night falls and darkness blankets the sky, a spectacle unfolded above – the breathtaking Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern Lights.
Our brilliant Roisin McDade photographers and stargazer on Quarterlands Road witnessed and photographed this mesmerizing phenomenon firsthand. With its unobstructed views and pockets of minimal light pollution, the area provided her the perfect vantage point for capturing the dancing ribbons of colorful light that graced the night sky.

However, the tranquility of this area is under threat. Proposed developments in the area could introduce street lights throughout the park, dimming the brilliance of the Aurora Borealis and destroying the delicate balance of the nighttime ecosystem.
Now more than ever, it’s crucial to advocate for the preservation of Quarterlands Road and the surrounding landscape. By safeguarding this environment, we ensure future generations can experience the awe-inspiring beauty of the Aurora Borealis and cherish the the many other natural wonders that make Quarterlands Road a truly lovely place to live.
Join us in protecting Lagan Valley Regional Park and preserving its status as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Together, we can ensure that the Northern Lights and all the other natural wonders of this area illuminate the lives of residents and visitors for generations to come.
