Celebrating the Season and Reflecting on Our Journey

Dear Community,

As the festive season envelops us in its warmth, we take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey we’ve shared throughout the year. This year has been one of resilience, unity, and determination for the Quarterlands Group.

Amidst the joy of the holidays, we find ourselves wrapped in the spirit of community and purpose. Our shared mission to preserve the cherished Lagan Valley Regional Park, in particular this site home to priority protected species and a 165-year-old hawthorn hedge, has brought us together in a remarkable way.

This holiday season, we celebrate not just the festivities but also the collective strength of our community. Our campaign has garnered over 1500 signatures on our petition and many messages and of support on that platform, and hundreds of objection letters a testament to the widespread support in the area for safeguarding the green heart of Lagan Valley.

Looking back, we are grateful for the incredible strides we’ve made, from being featured on the Solastalgia podcast to launching our website, a central hub for our campaign. It has become a space for sharing updates, stories, and connecting with fellow advocates for the cause.

As we bid farewell to 2023, our hearts are filled with gratitude for each one of you who has contributed, signed the petition, and engaged with us on this journey. Your support fuels our commitment to protecting the beauty and biodiversity of Lagan Valley.

In the spirit of new beginnings, we eagerly anticipate the coming year. With our new website serving as a powerful tool for outreach and communication, we are more determined than ever to champion the cause.

May this festive season bring you joy, warmth, and the company of loved ones. As we step into the new year, let’s continue our shared mission to preserve the natural wonders that make Lagan Valley a haven for all.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

With heartfelt gratitude,

The Quarterlands Group
