A Call for Awareness and Action
Dear Neighbours,
We need your attention! A concerning incident occurred on Saturday, October 7th, in the fields to the east of Quarterlands Road. We must stand together to protect our local wildlife and the tranquillity of our community.
“What Happened?”
A Startling Shooting Incident
On that fateful Saturday, between 1 pm and 6 pm, a shooting incident took place uncomfortably close to our cherished Zenda Park and the Rural Cottages. Children playing in the area were exposed to this distressing event.
Local residents were left in shock and disbelief as they witnessed birds falling from the trees. We cannot rule out the possibility that other creatures may have been harmed, but the shock left everyone hesitant to inquire about the shooter’s bag. The shooting continued for approximately 5 hours.
"A Disturbing Sight"
What Residents Saw
The shooter was observed carrying a large bag, presumably containing the result of his actions, and possibly empty cartridges, towards his parked car on Rural Cottages Road. This incident happened distressingly close to the proposed application site, LA05/2022/0033/F.
"Taking Action for Our Wildlife"
Reporting to Authorities
We take the protection of our local wildlife seriously. The incident has been reported to the Police Wildlife Officer, and the RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds) has also become aware of this shocking occurrence. The responsibility for protecting wildlife within a Site of Local Nature Importance (SLNCI) falls on our community (LCCC).
"Emotional Impact on Our Community"
Community Well-Being Matters
